Question New Hubby adopting both my children

After many arguments with my exhusband who has very little to do with my 13 yo daughter and 15 yo son has finally decided to let my new husband adopt my children. Which is what they both really want. I'm just a little nervous with the "unkown". Is there a chance the judge would deny this request with my ex willing to sign away his parental rights and both my kids wanting this as well as my new husband wanting this?

I think as long as your ex husband is willing to appear in court and surrender his parental rights, there should be no problem. Also, since your kids are old enough, if the judge had any questions, they could speak up.

Good luck!

Thumbs up Met with attorney

Update. We met with our attorney Wednesday afternoon. Things look very good. My husband and I will sign the papers beginning of next week, then they will be sent to the bf. Hopefully he signs them immediately and returns them ASAP. We're hoping for a July court date. If he takes his time, it'll be the beginning of August. In our county the judge only hears adoptions the first Tuesday of every month. My son who is almost 15 will be appointed his own attorney which he's very excited about. My 13 yo will come to court even though she isn't required to be there. The bf isn't required to show up in court either which makes things much easier on the kids. Just hoping he signs them quickly and doesn't change his mind.
