We finally got our case before the judge yesterday after post-ponements in Feb. and Apr. Bio-mom was not at this hearing (not sure if her atty told her not to come of if she just didn't show up), but the judge heard it anyways. She ordered bio-mom to hand over all of her financial records since 09/96 when the last child support and custody order was signed. Even though they are saying that she has no income and her boyfriend pays for everything, the judge said that the only way bio-mom could justify not paying support was if she was laying in hospital bed almost dead, and since we all know she wasn't, then she has no excuse!~!~! She has 30 days to get us the information we requested, but we know she probably will leave things out and we will have to take her back to court over it. The judge ruled that she doesn't want to talk to my step-son right now; she doesn't want to put him through that, but she will talk to him later if she feels it is necessary. If we have to, we can take a deposition of my step-son's psychologist and use that in court (his doctor has already said he would to this if it was necessary). We are probably looking at being back at court in June or July sometime. We are hoping to have the whole case settled by the beginning of October since I am expecting and am due at the end of October!~!~! I will keep y'all updated.

Well, the 30 days for bio-mom to submit the financial records to my atty has come and gone (Along with another 30 days). My atty sent her atty a letter and is giving him 15 days from the date of that letter or we are going back to court. We are once again asking the judge to order her (bio-mom) to hand over the info, or if the judge doesn't want to do that, then we are asking that her original response to my petition to adopt my step-son be thrown out and the adoption be granted (basically a default judgement). Her atty has until 07/28 to get the info to my atty or he will file the necessary motions to request a new court date. I am hoping that this will be over before Oct 25 (I am expecting and due on that day), but of course my atty could make no guarantees on that. I will update once the 28th comes and goes to let everyone know where we are going next!~!~!
