Hi everyone! I am Tara. I am new to this board. I am hoping someone out there will be able to give me some ideas.
After almost 3 long years, the adoptions are almost final! Let me explain a little.
I am adopting my stepdaughter. She is 9. My husband is adopting my daughter. She is 8. The girls are exactly 6 months apart, to the day (one's bd is Jan 6, and the other is July 6). My husband and I have been a couple since 1999. The girls were 3 when we got together. So pretty much, the life we have is the life they have known for most of their lives.
Long story short, after 3 long years of waiting, the adoption hearing is coming up! Our attorney wants to have both hearings on the same day. We are so excited and happy!
We are planning to have a big party after they are done. So many people have been through this with us, and I want to have a big celebration when it is finished. The problem is that I can't find anything on this type of party. I would like invitations and ideas for a "double step parent adoption" for two older girls. Any ideas would be appreciated!!

First off, congratulations on what will undoubtedly be a tremendously special day;
You'll likely have to design your own invitations! because I don't think a 'double step parent adoption' happens often enough to become a standard !

... 'Please join us as we celebrate a special day in our lives ...'

Wouldn't that be enough?! Your friends and family must be so thrilled to share this with you!

Thank you Babs.
I figured I would have to wing it on my own with this one. There aren't many stories like ours. I can do it, I just wanted to make sure there wasn't something out there I am missing. I designed our wedding invitations, I don't see why this should be any different.
I would like to have a cute little poem though for the invitations.
I will share anything that I design or find. Maybe I can help out someone else.
