Has anyone used Mail Order Forms for a SP Adoption?

I've been researching some of the places today...and I was hoping if anyone had ever used a mail order legal forms company, that you would PM me with the name, cost and opinion of the service they provided.

There is a site that offers an all inclusive package of all of the forms you will need for the SP Adoption, but its rather pricey...

We're doing this Pro Se in Dekalb County Illinois.

Also, the Circuit Court has a number of forms online, ready to be filled out...has anyone ever gone this route?

Brady - I did my kids step-parent adoption all by myself. It took about 2-3 days at our local law library (at a law school). I researched both in the forms books as well as in legal journals (which had info on the proceedure). Also, be very familiar with the specific laws (statues) in your state on adoption.

There really isn't a good way to just "get a set of forms" as each situation will be different and researching the law is what you need to do. If your local court has some forms for you, that's certainly a place to start.

I picked up all the forms I needed yesterday at the courthouse...so that was a HUGE help.

I did contact an attorney...and we're working together to come up with a plan that we think will work....

My concern at this point, I doubt he’ll Vol TPR...I'll most likely have to do an invol TPR...which I can do based on the Statutes I read yesterday.

My other concern...I was told that even tho my son is ten and was not conceived/born in Illinois, I still have to do a search of the Putative Father's Registry here in Illinois...something I have no idea how to do.

I certainly have the time to do it...I just worry about getting it all done correctly...the lady at the courthouse yesterday was VERY rude...and said I'd never get a judge to approve a Pro Se SPA because they require you state Case Law and whatnot...ugh.
