I want to adopt my step-daughters 12 and 10. Their mother has cancer, has not been paying child support and she is over $20,000 behind. I pay for all medical, dential, vision, clothing, food, etc... I have been in their lives for 8 years. They call me mom. I treat them like my own. Their Bio mom calls once in a while and has some visits with them. Mostly during the summer she sees them. On their return they are usually needing medical attention due to sicknesses that were untreated or the mental abuse she plays on them. She has abanded them at a young age, she tried to kidnap them 3 times, she even tried to separate them. Both girls have always lived with my husband and I. What process can I go through that will benifit the girls?
