I posted a message several months back about adopting my stepdaughter. Well, I just wanted to post again just to give some of you some hope. On July 20, 2004, I became a new mother of a 11 year old daughter. I have raised her with my husband for 4 years. It took 18 months to complete the whole process. We terminated bio mothers rights last year. And then started the adoption. The new birth Certificate arrived yesterday and we are so thankful to the Lord for this blessing. For those of you trying the wonderful thing of adopting a stepchild, hang in there. The Lord found favor in us, and can do the same for you.

Hi, I too wish to adopt my 2 step sons. Their ages are 13 and 15. I have helped my husband raise them now for over 4 years. Their bio. mother has had no physical contact in over 3 years. The last phone conversation was 2 years ago. I hope to do this without involving alot of money grubbing lawyers. Seems like I could just go before the court and start this process. We live in KY and their bio-mother lives in AR, last we heard...she is mostly in the cross-bar hotel..Congrats to you and yours, Vette
