I am trying to handle a stepparent adoption myself, and I am having trouble finding information. The only resource I have been able to find so far is the county, and they say that if I want to handle this myself that I have to go through them. Is this true? Cant I just file the paperwork myself and handle the procedures through the courthouse?

Also if you still have the forms could you please email them to me also.

I live in Texas and need forms to adopt adult stepchildren. Their name was changed many years ago. Can you e-mail the right forms to me? I would really appreciate it!!

Hi everyone

What you need to do is go to your local county courthouse and they have all the necessary paperwork there and can guide you through it all. My local courthouse wouldn't accept downloaded forms. Usually each county has their own documents.
