I am trying to decided what to do and any help would be great. I live in Texas and I'm not quite sure where my son's BF lives (I do know it is out of state though). He has had no contact for nearly 3 years and maybe once or twice a year for the 3 years before that - I have been married for 3 years and my husband wants to adopt my son. My son has been calling him Dad fro about 2-1/2 years and we have had a baby since then and my son wants nothing more than us all to have the same name.

I thought it might be eaiser to do a name change - but the way it looks - if I get lucky and we can't find the BF and have to run an add in the local newspaper that we can do the adoption just as easy.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.
