Arrow parental rights gone, new dad adoption

Hello,

My ex-husband legally signed away his parental rights a few years ago so he would not have to pay child support for our 15 year old daughter. Really a relief for all of us since he was never involved in her life.

Now, my new husband wants to adopt her, and she is thrilled to have him in her life.

Since there is NO ISsuE whatsoever with the birth father, can we do it ourselves? We live in Denton County.

Any suggestions is appreciated.

Thank you.

Sounds like it should be easy enough since from what your saying you now have a uncontested adoption one thing you may want to be sure of though is that his parental termination was legal. Hope that helps

I was thinking the same thing because without an adoption in the first place TPR's are really hard to get. The other issue is are you sure 'rights' were taken. There is a difference, many confuse things like someone not being granted or asking for visitation as not having rights. Did you have to sign something to waive the CS? This is important too.
