[My Boy]

I have been in my step sons life since march of 2001, when he had just turned 2yrs old. He is now 5yrs old and knows me as his mom because his birth mother walked out on him and his father when he was only 16 months old. We took her to court Nov. of 2001 and the judge ordered her to spend 30 mins with him and to set up normal visits. She did spend the 30 mins with him but has not spent any time with him after that day. She doesn't call, write,send gifts or even pay child support. I just had a baby boy on 11-08-03 and I wont for us to be a complete family. I love my step son like he's my own and always will no matter if this adoption goes through or not. I just feel that if she doesn't wont to be in his life, like a mother should that she should just let me adopt him.

my name is Beverly and I am in the same boat as you I have been married for almost three years now and I have a 4 year old son who has never seen his bio father and only knows my husband now as his daddy and my husband wants so bad to adopt him and my ex-husband signed all parental rights away but we are not sure what to do now. So I understand your situation completely his father has never seen him or spoke to him I dont think he even knows his name.
