My husband wants to adopt my son
My ex husband hasn't had contact with my son pretty much since he was born, he's now 3 going on 4. When we got a divorce, the court gave me full legal and physical custody without visition rights, that's that mean he already gave up his rights, am I going to have a problem with my husband wanting to adopt him? Do we have to petion for his rights to be terminated? Help!!!!!!!!!!!

i know a little bit about this and i know that the birth parent rights must be termated before you can allow your husband to apodt. unless the court actually said they termated his rights then they didnt, depending on the state they usually devote one court date to that, but they wont do so unless they have reason to. if his rights werent terminated there are a few ways to do it depending on the state. if you can contact him he can sign over his rights to you.
