i have two from a previous marriage, and one with him. we've been married for a little over 3 years now, and he's been the sole provider for them all since we've been together. my ex husband refuses to pay child support, and there's nothing i can deduct as wages because he doesn't work. when he does work, it's always 'under the table' as they say, so there's still nothing i can do about it, because there is no proof that he is employed. however, i got tired of messing with him, and took him back to court. i got his visitation suspended in august of '99. we haven't heard from him, or about him since then. i have no clue where he is, nor do i really care (lol), except one thing: my husband wants to adopt my children. with the above being said, i don't know if i would have to have my ex's permission, or if we could do it without his consent (which i doubt he will give!) or exactly what we have to do to get this ball rolling. if anyone can help, that will be great. we live in northern va, so if anyone would happen to know the laws or whatever va has, that would be so much appreciated and helpful. you can reply, pm, or im me. either way would be fine! thanks in advance!!
