we've started the process to have my hubby adopt my son. The birth father actually suggested it and has agreed to sign off on his legal rights. I just rec'd the paperwork from the county to get the process going, I should also let you all know we're doing this ourselves. My question is I got 2 forms for the birth father to release legal obligation...and one of them require a "clerk witness", my problem is that that birth father lives out of state, do i need to get a lawyer in his state to get the papers signed with a "clerk" witness?? just thought maybe someone knew.
Thanks! |
