I have read so many times that you can do the stepparent adoption yourself without a lawyer. I have the form for voluntary relinquishment of parental rights. If I can find **, she will sign it. I know the costs to file that with the courts, no prob. What I still need is the paperwork we will need for the adoption. If anyone has any links or info to share, I would greatly appreciate it. I know we can hire an attorney but funds are low and we do not want to delay this any longer. We need to do this the most inexpensive way possible. Please help if you can. Thanks.

I am in the process of doing the same as you and have found this website that I am planning on using for the filing of all necessary forms. There is a fee but is substantially lower than highering an attorney. Here is the link:

We just got throught with my adoption here in texas,Montgomery county two days ago. I have everything and all the information you guys'll need to do it without a lawyer. My adrres is gusana_69@hotmail.com

It just cost us 170 at the court
500 for the home study 10 por the finger print back ground, and 100 por the forms with the instruction how to fillit up Total 780 dollar. That was the cost off the all process.

You can't waive the finger print check. You may not be able to waive the home study also. That is totally up to the judge if he/she will require it. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news...

I would love to have a copy or the relinquish rights form. I have also been searching forever for the correct adoption forms so that we can do-it-yourself. Do you have any clue what the judge may make us do since we have no clue on the whereabouts of the BF?
