We Need Guidance
My husband wants to adopt my son and we don't know where to begin. I was awarded full custody of my son in the divorce which was not contested by my ex. I do not know where the ex is or how to get in contact with him. I haven't seen ex in five years. Do we have to get his permission to terminate his rights as a parent before we can proceed with the adoption? I am now residing in Miami, Fl and the divorce took place in New Jersey. Please help.
