Moving after adoption
ok here it is
I am adopting my step children and my wife and I want to move in 2 years or so out of state. The father is in and out but some what involved. He has no issue with us moving or me adopting them it is kind of open his mom has already sued us for visitation once and we are afraid she can stop us from moving now too. Does anyone know if she will be able too? This is in Wisconsin and I already know her rights are not terminated with his because it is a step parent adoption, Or at least that is what I have read. Please let me know |

No one can *stop* you from moving...they can just make it difficult for you to live far away!
I'm not sure about WI, but in Texas...if you move more than 150 miles away...its the custodial parents responsability to meet the other person with visitation rights at least half way...
