Question stepparent adoption resources

Hello. We are going to court next week to finalize my husband's adoption of my daughter. She knows no other father other than him. I was wondering if anyone knows of any books or other resources that are available about stepparent adoptions. My daughter is 7 now and I want to tell her what's going on before we go to court. It's my hope that if she knows the truth from early on, it wont be as big of a deal later in life. I have searched my local library but have come up empty handed. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

can u help me?

HI I was wondering if you know how I can get started and the price of having my stepdad adopt me? I am 23 years old. My stepdad is my daddy. He's been in my life from day1. My real dad is just a "sperm doner" Can you help me in any way?

Our adoption wasn't contested, so it made it cheaper and easier although we did have to track down the biological father. Overall, we spent about $1200 for the adoption. Of that cost, $385 was court filing fees. (We live in MO). We did have an attorney because I wanted everything to be legitimate and not leave any loopholes. I would expect that your adoption would be very easy and uncomplicated due to your age. However, I would still contact an adoption attorney just to make sure all of your I's are dotted and your T's are crossed. Good Luck!
