Goofy things we do when sleep deprived..

It was late and I went into the bathroom to brush my teeth. I didn't turn the bathroom light on because one of the little boys was asleep in my bed. I reached in the draw and pulled out what I thought was tooth paste and proceeded to brush my teeth. Oh my gosh I knew instantly this wasn't tooth paste I proceeded to spit and flush my mouth out with water, but couldn't rinse out the horrible taste. The heck with the kid I turned on the light looked in the drawer and found that I put desitin on my tooth brush. My dh rolled on the floor laughing I thought he was going to wet his pants. Just in case your wondering it doesn't rinse out and I had such a hard time going to sleep with the horrible taste in my mouth, but I woke up without a diaper rash in my mouth. lol

What goofy things have kids and sleepless nights caused to happen?

Mostly stuff like put the cereal in the fridge and the milk in the cupboard. BUT once I gave dog food to my youngest son. I didn't realize it until after he spit it out and asked me what it was. Then he started crying and asked why I would do that to him. Poor kid.

I almost snorted coffee out my nose with that one. LOL

I went through the actions of making the babies bottle once and completely forgot the formula. M was none to pleased with the mouthful of warm water he got instead of milk.

Several times: lost the list with 3-4 items somewhere between home and the supermarket and then forgot the one thing on the list crucial for dinner.

Just once: took my friend's dog to the vet without stopping to pick up the dog on the way-- and discovered this when I walked in to the vet and realized you have to have the pet with you to have it seen.

Couldn't find the peanut butter or cheese for days and then found it in the freezer.

My mom once made a p.b. sandwich in the middle of the night and then couldn't find it after she put the p.b. away. So she decided to go back to bed. Couldn't get in the bedroom through the cupboard in the hall though. Finally made it. Found the sandwich the next morning - hanging on the fridge. She had put the p.b. between two potholders!!!

Remodeling the kitchen, pulled all of the molding down and discovered a nest of nasty roaches, so I was pulling down a piece then grabbing the spray. On the last piece I saw a single bug, so I grabbed the spray and shot it. The roach just stayed there, so I sprayed again. And again. And it kept staying there and laughing at me. I didn't understand what the problem was--this was super-duper good spray.

It really was. It keeps everything except roaches from sticking.

I'd butter sprayed the roach.

Right after Ty came home my husband was rushed into the hospital in heart failure (a total shock) and they ended up putting a defib in. A week or so after he got out, I was up feeding Ty at about 3 AM, and I asked him how he was doing (nothing like your spouse almost dying to make you take care of them!) and he said he was ok, but his incision was hurting. I asked if he wanted me to put some aquafor on it, as that had been helping soften the scar. He said sure. So (in the dark) I got the tube, and squirted a bunch into my hands to warm it up and then massaged it all into his shoulder and scar and he said it felt good so I massaged the side of his neck etc. I actually got more "aquafor" and massaged all around his arm which was sore from the surgery and his wrists which were bruised from so many IV's etc. When we woke up the next day, he was was covered in white Desitin, and so were all the blankets, sheets and his pillow.

When Ty was on Zantac I accidentally "swigged" a bunch of it from the bottle because I mistook it as my prescription cough medication. It tastes AWFUL!

After Matty came home both boys and I were sick, and DH was at work. I was exhausted and laid down on the couch while they were both napping. DH called to check in on us, and as we were hanging up, instead of our typical "I love you's"...I sleepily sighed, "I like you." He teases me all the time.

So, how does Desitin come out of blankets?? Just wondering since getting a little on the Onsies sometimes took some extra attention to get it all out.
