Vyvanse - help!

We are on our third day of ADHD meds - Vyvanse. This is the first one we have tried, so we are not sure about side effects. The big thing that concerns me is that our daughter seems to be more emotional than usual on this drug - and that is saying something! The tantrums have come at the same time each day - late afternoon. Has anyone used Vyvanse? I'll be calling the doctor tomorrow, but I'm curious to hear other experiences.
Thanks!

Have not used Vyvanse but my DS was on Ritalin for 2 weeks. thsi was the first drug psych prescribed. DS developed a psychosis (heard classmates in his head). I took him off; he wasn't on any thing for a month. Then he was put on Strattera which has worked wonders!!

We stopped our daughter's meds during the summer; when she got back on she had the same reaction she did when she first started taking them; overly moody! It lasted a couple of days while her body adjusted to the meds; I would call your doc. This might not be the right med for your child.

DS2 is on Vyvanse and we are getting him off. I can't say for sure if that is the 'culprit' since he takes other meds...but his mood is BAD. He's so angry and he even seems physically different. Didn't have that on Concerta and hoping to get rid of it again very soon...

Does it appear to be helping in the morning? If she is having trouble in the afternoon it could be a type of rebound effect as the medicine wears off. That could be helped by taking more meds in the afternoon....

Thanks...that makes sense. It is helping earlier in the day, although not as much as I hoped it might, but we are just starting out and are on a very low dose.
She is having trouble getting to sleep at night, though, so if she takes more (either in the a.m. or later in the day), wouldn't that just get worse?
Thanks to everyone for their thoughts! I'm exausted - it has been quite a day!

Vyvanse did nothing for my DS, he was a crazy man in school! Adderall XR has worked the best for him. He takes 40 mg in the morning and then takes a 5 mg regular Adderall when he gets home from school for extra focus.
