So...what did you do on the 4th? What special moment did you have? (You know, like 3 minutes alone in the bathroom!
)We were able to spend the day with some family members and the kids had a good time, so it was A Great Day for us. Now I'm home attempting to recuperate and get my body back on track! ![]()

My aunt from Arizona flew into NJ (where my parents live) in order to meet the kids! It was a relaxing day of BBQ'ing, playing board games, swimming, and then fireworks.
Considering we're completely off any kind of schedule and are doing things on the fly -- they've been doing really well. They have even been getting along ok and doing activities together. I haven't had any alone time, but it's been nice having so many others around to help lessen the burden on me... especially since the kids are getting attention from others. We have one more week in NJ, with lots of activities planned. Hopefully no meltdowns.

We went back to school shopping on the 4th - which is fun for me and usually ONLY me. But, this year - the kids were enjoyable. I let them pick (mostly) and if they picked nothing...that's what they got with no getting upset. My DD actually seemed to enjoy shopping with me and got excited about a few purchases. Ad silly as this sounds - I've waited for this. It seems so normal for a mom and daughter to enjoy shopping together and it happened. Of course, she proceeded to spray on 20 different perfumes while my back was turned at the register and therefore smelled like a whore house the rest of the day!
