Awaiting a black hole...

End of school, birthday and pending vacation have all converged with the full moon.

Sorry, just couldn't resist. LOL I like Lucy's suggestion, only I prefer Kahlua in my coffee.

All around me friends are celebrating the fact that school is almost out - while I am ready to go into the closet and lock the door for the next few months. E in particular does not adjust well to changes in his routine, so I know I am in for a couple of really rough weeks, followed by a couple rough months.

Oh Red, I hear you! Everyone here is so excited too and I was dreading it. We are into our second week of school being out and today was his first good day. I think though that it's mainly because he had a blast at VBS and I told him that as a good mom, if he did not eat and drink (for anyone new my son deals with issues by stopping eating and drinking and throwing up) that in order to conserve the little bit of fuel his body had, he would have to stay in my room for VBS, which had an attached small room where I could put a sleeping bag, (Sister's Hannah Montana sleeping bag happened to be out at that moment) and he could lay there all morning with a book and maybe a coloring book and crayons, while I did my work and other kids had fun. He hates for the other kids to call him a baby, (He never seems to realize that sometimes he brings it on himself, like when he eats spaggetti with his fingers at school, or poops his pants to get out of class) so he decided to eat. He is taking a very, very long time to eat dinner though. And he is back up to some of his old tricks. Like he was with me when I dropped my car off at the shop this morning. Just now, while I was typing another son asked me about the schedule tomorow, I told them we would take Ds's truck and hopefully go pick up my car after VBS, so M who is sitting a few feet away, very slowly eating, immidiatly asks me if I have my car back yet. (OH and before dinner he was out playing on the driveway where my car would be parked if it was here!) So I guess that lunch today was a fluke. I may not want to come home from Mikefest! We have not yet told M I am going, as he would get worse before that.

All my life, I thought summer was supposed to be the fun time of year. And then I adopted. And even after the first year, I still had this "oh, summer will be wonderful" fantasy in my head. 1 week into the summer vacation, multiple meltdowns, and one angry day care later, I think I've finally figured out that summer is HELL!
