I just got put on leave. I only have a week and a half of vacation time, after that it's unpaid. The investigator assured me this morning when I spoke to her that she would close this as soon as she could since it was so open and shut.

I thought things had been much better with the attorney I work for, but she looked too happy to see me going on leave. I was just getting my head back together and catching up on all my work, too.

I truly believe that they will fire me even though the allegations are false. I was careful to let the managing attorney who put me on leave know that I already had a lawyer involved, so maybe I'll get lucky.

This makes the situation with Cowboy look like a walk in the park. I have never been more miserable or felt more hopeless in my life. The only bright side to the situation is that if I lose my job I can surrender my rights to B, put her back in the system and keep that family from having her.

I need some hugs and I need some prayers. I am not doing well.

What is wrong with your state?! Hello, this kid has history and a therapist that can support the fact that she lies. Why on earth are they acting as if this is some sweet little kid and believing any of this crap?

You know what? You should find a nice place to just finish your book. 3 of my sisters are freelance writers, for two of them, that is their only job. How about marketing? One of my freelance writing sisters owns her own very profitable marketing company that she runs from home(she started doing this when my neices disabilities and the school system clashed).

You might be better off putting B in the shelter and doing therapy with her just to give yourself some back up that SHE is the problem, the enabling FP that lost their license are the problem, and that YOU are NOT the problem.

Hugs and prayers. Hang in there. I know how it feel when one begins to hope that a nice terrorist will drop a plane on them. Sadly, you don't get out of this that easily.

Like Mike says -- don't quit, let them terminate you. Then file for unemployment and file a lawsuit against the foster family for slander. Also, file against your former employers. Heck, file against whoever -- state/agency -- originally placed "B" with you. They lied when they said she was adoptable.
Eat chocolate, snuggle with dogs, and think about moving to Hawaii.
