Update 4 Lylac...

I heard from her via email. She can read the boards, but not post.

She is still in Tampa. Things are going good and they will be heading home on Friday after they sign papers.

I am jealous as she had 80 degree weather today and it was beautiful. Okay, I am *so* jealous!!!

Lylac, hurry home - with your little one - as we miss you!!!

80 degrees?! I almost fell on the ice today, and kept sinking through the nasty crust on top of the snow outside doing a few things. I want 80 degree weather, sand, ocean, and.... LOL

Soak it up for me, Lylac. And all the time with your little guy. Enjoy some of that time with Dh, too. You can do that for yourself, not for me.

One bonus of adopting from FL, if you go in the winter it is REALLY nice to get a break from the cold!

Glad to hear things are going well

Thanks SAHmom for posting! Glad things are going well and we all look forward to when she gets home.

Lylac - Maybe you can just swing by Miami and bring R with ya? The GAL is taking the agency to court on Tues for still not signing the contract or doing anything. It's a mess! and poor R is very worried that placement will fall thru b/c of her agency

Sorry about that. We had an emergency at home. Lyla is a very sick little girl. She came home friday from school feeling bad, high temp ,pooping and puking soon followed . Sis took her to the ER. Her white blood count is 21000 double what it's supposed to be. So definitely an infection. They gave her a shot and some more meds. They took a poop sample to check for CDiff. But it won't be back for a few days.
We feel so torn! We started to go back home this morning, even if it meant having to leave Nathan here. But Sis assured us that Lyla would be ok, and she would call if things got worse. The good thing is that my other babies are at their other Gma's.

Nathan is a total cutie, but is WILD! He likes to be held and loved on, but when he wants down..he means right now. Wild may n0t be the right word..Busy best describes him. The plan is, Monday we have a 4 hour meeting/visit. We have to go over his medical stuff, really it[s more like a test f0r us to make sure we know what we're doing.DUH!!! Anyways the nurse will sign off, then we can get unsupervised visit s with him..I know it's the CRAZIEST crap I ever heard of. On Tuesday ,we have to go to court because his GAL Wants the judge to meet us, when he signs the papers. CRAZY again. Wednesday we have more visit time. Thursday we have all day all night, then sign papers on friday . Then head home.'

Please excuse any typos. I'm on my cell.

The adoption recruiter asked if I knew of anyone wanting to adopt , she has 3500 kids needing families. That's just her area alone.'
Nathans Foster mom is really sweet and is ontop of her game, as far as information.

We're doing what they ask, but somehow we feel like we're still having to prove ourselves , evevn though, 4 states say that we are more than qualified. I feel like a bio trying to visit their child. Oh well it will be over soon.

We went to Tim's fami
y here. And to the place he was born. His aunt that lives where we do comes here to spend the winter . And now she wants to go back home with us. If we have room, she will. Depending on how much equipment Nathan has. She w
s planning on going home at the end of this month anyways. She started crying when she saw us, and especially when she found out that Nathan was named after her dead son..which was very close to Tim..and me.

Fl0rida is ok, but I wouldn't want to live here. The ocean and beaches didn't impress me, but then again Niagara falls didn't either. I'm a mountain kinda girl.

please keep Lyla in your prayers...she really nee them..and so I. We hate being away from the kids..specially when they are sick.

I'll try to post more later, this cell phone is hard to type on, even if it is a touch screen

Momraine did you realize that you can adopt kids that don't have limb difference? Just because you did that before doesn't mean you have to all the time. I mean that is if the 3500 kids all have their limbs.

Its funny you say that about the beaches there. I love the beach and we went swimming in south beach Fla in November and I was not impressed either. It was really polluted. I nearly puked when a sanitary napkin went floating by DD while she was swimming. She didn't understand why I suddenly started yelling for her to get out!

Anyway I am praying For Lyla. It must be so hard for you both to be apart right now. I know if I have a sick kid I just want them next to me the whole time. I even make them a bed in my bedroom just so that I can be close if they need me.
