Talking After 15 years...Jean gets it!!!!!!

No, not THAT (Lylac, you perv!)!! After 15 years of being involved with me, jean has finally experienced the paranormal in my house.

For those of you who are new here, review my older threads. I live in an actual haunted house. Over the years, we've had everything from noises to moving objects to full-blown apparitions.

Well, last night jean and I were enjoying a Thanksgiving nightcap of Diet Cokes by the fireplace when she looked at her cellphone and turned white!! She said "mike, this is nuts but my phone just went from 10:37 to 10:39. I watched it and it skipped 10:38 altogether. Then, she said "Oh my God, it just went to 10:40 after ten seconds." I told her that the Others like to mess with gadgets.

jean has always been hesitant to believe the stories of what goes on here since she has experienced NOTHING. Well, this really freaked her out. She even had me walk her out to the car after the night ended.

Mike, I'm gonna have to dig out your old threads to read up on your ghost stories. I have plenty of my own to add, but I've been hesitant to say anything...I'd hate to have people think I'm a nutty old lady or something, lol.

I do love to hear other people's stories. So you've been having full-blown apparitions?? That is so cool, depending on how you think of ghosts.

For anyone who visits the Whaley House in San Diego, if you're sensitive to ghosts at all, be prepared. The last time I visited it, I was taken by surprise by a female ghost upstairs, going into the children's nursery. I saw her approaching out of the corner of my eye (white Victorian dress and swept-up hair), and then I felt the coldest sensation I've ever felt in my life go right thru me. When I turned around, she was gone... Spooky...

Raven:

I would love to visit the Whaley House. I've read a lot about it and it sounds very interesting.

In fact, jean and I are looking into possibly taking a short trip to Edinburgh this summer to tour the Southgbridge Vaults. I hear they are a must-visit for ghost aficionados.

Oh, and Lylac, three of the ghosts in my house are older men, so you nailed that one!! (The fourth is a dog.)

At the risk of sounding crazy, we have a little girl here.

Our house is over 100 yrs old, so I guess it's not unexpected..............

There are others, but we've actually heard the little girl on several occassions.

You're just too in love with that wonderful DH of yours to appreciate a good sexy ghost when you read about one!

And thanks on the pic, I took it last week.

Mike,

I'm with you..I have felt and seen ghosts..There is a very famous, fancy, haunted restaurent here. After the Titanic disaster, many bodies were brought here and the restaurant is now where the morgue used to be...and many many Titanic victims were laid out in this morgue.

When my father used to come to visit me in my early university days...his treat would be to take me out to this restaurant...One night I had an exam until 9 pm..and we went afterwards to eat. We were the last people in this VERY nice, fancy restaurant..and we were alone...

I looked over at wall where there is HUGE stained glass window..in fact most of the wall is stained glass...Absolutely beautiful..and I could see the silhouettes of people dancing..and there was music..and it looked like they were having a party. I didn't think anything of it...It was close to Christmas..so we figured a Christmas party in another room.

We went up to the mussel bar (yumm....) and when we came back...they were gone..again..didn't think anything of it..

We mentionned to our waiter when we were leaving..and said..wow that must have been some party in the next room..and he turned ABSOLUTELY white..and said what party? and we pointed to the window..and said next door..He said Mam..that is outside..and we're upstairs on the third floor...

He said that there are MANY ghost sightings at this resturant...some are known Titanic victims..he said there is an older gentleman..who likes to come and order drinks at the bar...dressed in coat, tails and black top hat..but when you turn back he's gone...

But once we mentionned the party, the waiter said..yes we often see people in the window..and we hear music...especially at closing time..and sometimes it's like someone is pushing us out of the restaurant if we stay to long...

That's my big ghost story...

oooo hydrox, how creepy cool!
Our old house, built in 1890 had ghosts. They loved my kids noisy toys, and would play with them in the middle of the night. Nothing like waking up to roaring dinosaurs, A Talking Barney, Tinkle Me Elmo and beeping etch-a-sketches.

The home I have now is the first one in my entire adult life that has NOT been haunted (except for ghost cats). I think it's because the house wasn't built until 1979. But before I bought this place, every single home I've lived in as an adult has been haunted in some fashion (they've always been older homes).

Ghost cats seem to love me and seek me out. There's a black cat and a calico cat that often show up on our stairway. It doesn't seem to matter if it's day or night. Sometimes when I'm at the computer, a cat will come up and rub against my legs. I think it's one of our "real" cats, but when I bend down to pet it, there's no one there.

I think my late father likes to play tricks on me once in a while. We have a problem here where sometimes car keys turn up missing. I'll have placed them on the kitchen table, but they're nowhere in sight when I go to get them. So I end up tearing the house apart, looking for them. Then I'll go back into the kitchen to look once again. And there they'll be, sitting right there in plain sight on the kitchen table. I always think it's my dad because this started happening to me right after he died in 1992.

One day soon, I'll tell you guys about the ghost in the heater. I lived in a very haunted neighborhood a long time ago in Albuquerque, NM. Lots of stories from those days!

Wink Hmmm...so Jean finally "gets it"

I have to admit...I was there with Lylac on this one! However, I was not completely in the gutter. I was thinking a wedding ring!

I have enjoyed this thread.

Mike you're gonna have to come and visit someday..We has some pretty amazing ghost places There is a church downtown, called St. Paul's...and in the H---- explosion all the windows blew out..except for one...but if you look at the window now..you can see the outline of a man...and they can't get rid of it..

In the Citadel there are old tunnels that bury deep into the hill....and I know some of the guys that work there during the summer with the Citadel militia have seen ghosts...Most of the guys will not go alone into the tunnels..there have been reports of people being locked into rooms....

And that's just a start
