follow-up to homework/IEP

I want to thank everyone once again for your suggestions and insight.

I got everything I wanted out of the IEP, including special education (and a specialized setting for emotionally disturbed), the occupational therapy, and last but not least no homework.

The homework situation was ridiculously easy to address. When it got to that part of the discussion I just said that before we proceeded I needed to have "no homework" written into her IEP. The principal asked me why. I said that I could give a long list of excellent reasons but that in the end it wouldn't matter because it was not something I was willing to negotiate...it simply had to go.

They wrote it in, and we moved on.

Wow! That's wonderful. Glad it worked out and I hope it helps your child.
