my kids had tpr last february, but bio father showed up for court. When he walked in both girls, 13 and 11,jumped onto my lap. Cw'r did intervene and moved us into the judges chambers. Kids settled down nicely, and they escorted bio dad out of the courthouse. I had written a letter to the gal, and he told the judge that I had. So the judge asked if I wanted to speak. I was able to tell him the problems we are encountering regarding our adoption. Judge issued bench orders to several people to do different things. So that was encouraging. I actually did receive some papers I've been trying to get for several months today.
We got to see the kids' grandfather and he gave me baby pictures. Kids got to get some of their belongings that never went with them into foster care. They did really well with the emotion of the whole thing. DD 13 only had one major meltdown, and that was while we were driving 10mph in the snowstorm on the usually 6 hour drive home. Ds did have a screaming match with me this morning, but apologized tonight without prompting. so all in all not a bad time. |

Oh, this was that "surprise" hearing, wasn't it?
What was it for? I don't think you said before. I am glad that, so far, the kids are doing okay.

6 month review hearing. Judge was not too happy that we are still not finalized 9 months after TPR. Kids had sibling visits with olders sibs who told bio dad about the hearing.

My bad, I had you confused with someone else, I think. Regardless, I'm still glad your kids got through it and especially glad things may start moving in the right direction for all of you. ![]()

Glad it went relatively well. (((hugs))) Glad, too, that there were some positives to bring back from court.
