California adoption update..............

The only problem is that CA changed their rules and the first child needs to be in the home for 12 months, it used to be only 6 months. But she said they do waive this requirement and told me to still send our homestudy with a cover letter stating when our finalization will be taking place in October. I've very optimistic.

I think the County has a lot to do about it.

I live in Ca and am adopting from SD county. I had not heard about the extension of the time for the child to be in the home. SD county is pretty good about notifying us about everything.

I also know that there are no out of pocket expenses when adopting special needs children, at least in SD county. You don't need a lawyer here.

Good luck,
brydy
