miss vs. hospital surgery

I'm home.........can't talk long as I'm in too much pain.

Did get the laproscopic surgery (gallbladder removal), but had to stay overnight due to extreme nausea and barfing.
(because apparently when I told them I am a big barfer when it comes to anesthesia, they thought I was kidding)

My friend had a rough night with the boys, she looks almost as exhausted as I do! Q did go to school today, but J stayed home. He and my friend are at the pharmacy getting my meds now and picking up some movies. She said J only slept about 2 hours, even with his meds.

Anyway.............I won't be checking in for awhile or coming to chat tonight, but I appreciate all the thoughts and prayers!

Sandy

I can't believe they ignored you about the puking. That's awful cause they could have given you meds to prevent that. Hope you feel better soon.

the nausea is the worst! I learned on my first laparoscopy for endo(metriosis) - I pitched a fit each time after that to get the anti-nausea medicine.

praying you have a speedy recovery!

hope that you feel better real soon. did you have gall stones or was it just not working up to par. I am scheduled for surgery in the near future for my gall bladder and don't know what to expect. I also have to have knee surgery. not looking forward to either.

Morning!
I'm not saying good morning as it hasn't been very nice. Am struggling with lightheadedness and nausea again today, yuck.

Sleeping is going a bit better - can actually lay on my side now - but am curious about something. Has anyone had really bizarre dreams after having surgery??? I stopped taking the painkillers, thinking they were the culprit - but no. (am trying to make do with tyelnol and advil) Anyway, it's just weird.

Otherwise, am a little worried about going back to work tomorrow. Have been wearing really loose clothing as stomach area is really sensitive to pressure, and am debating what I can wear to school that looks teacher-y and yet isn't painful. Will also have to use the elevator (my students will love that!) as I'm on the 2nd floor and stairs are not yet my friend.

Am quite enjoying having the day to myself, though, with the boys at school. Would love to say I'm accomplishing a lot, but not really. Am doing a load of laundry right now (J wet his bed) and need to do dishes today - otherwise already picked up milk as we're out. We've been having interesting meals lately as I don't feel like eating much (woo hoo! maybe I'll lose a few pounds!!!).

Got some flowers, which was nice, from my friend who took care of the boys and another friend from Minneapolis. And believe it or not, got a card from my mother yesterday with $20 in it. (She wrote that she thought the $20 would be more useful than flowers.) So obviously my dad told her about my surgery and money issues - yay.

Ok, I'm probably rambling now. Am feeling a bit lightheaded again and am going to go take a nap. Anyway, probably won't make chat again tonight, but am shooting for Friday if at all possible.

Thanks again for prayers and well wishes!

Love ya,

Sandy

PS - po, yes I did have gallstones. Have had them for years, was supposed to have surgery 4 years ago but didn't due to legal issues with boys. Have used painkillers in the meantime to deal with attacks. Dr. said that my gallbladder had scarring from attacks.

Hope you get back to yourself quickly. One thing I did after surgery for dressing up for church, was a long skirt, you know the long flowing type? Well since it was so long I pulled up to right under my bra and then wore a long shirt over the top. You could not tell it was supposed to be a longer skirt since it still went below my knees. My best friend has severe stomach issues and has had a lot of surgery trying to fix it. She could not wear jeans but finally found a solution, she wears maternity pants. she is thrilled to wear jeans again and she can do it without worrying about pain when she gets bloated.

Miss, you should be feeling better! Did the doc give you any indication of how long healing should take? Do you have stiches that need to come out still or was this a no stitch surgery?

Hope work goes well for you tomorrow.
