For the few of you that know what happened to me YESTERDAY... just thought I'd thrown in how today went

We finally got all the needed paperwork to file Pixie's adoption assistance (the last step before the petition) and what do we find out today?!?!?!?!?!

All the paperwork has been filed with the WRONG NAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!

So, we get to start over... beginning with the initial court order.

I've had way too much character building in the last two days.

Athikers I'm sorry the system is being so bumpy and full of obstacles. Try to take solace in the fact that Pixie is there with you, to hug and cuddle when you need it!

Our daughter's adoption was finalized in March. We were missing one document (updated background check) so it wasn't official the day in court, but at least we didn't have to go back.

We got her birth certificate LAST WEEK! We got notice that her Nebraska Medicaid was cancelled the last day of April. We didn't get her Texas Medicaid card until LAST WEEK!

The adoption attorney doesn't get paid until she sends an original copy of the birth certificate to Nebraska. As far as I know she still hasn't gotten one. Our son's adoption is tomorrow morning! We're very lucky that the adoption attorney is still willing to go ahead with his adoption even though she hasn't been paid for our daughters! Hopefully everyone knows how this is supposed to work now and we won't have to wait as long.
