A happy update...

We are back from vacation and it was PERFECT! Hubby's whole family thinks Pixie hung the moon. She got lots of extra lovies and attention. Hubby and I had what felt like a HUGE break from a very stressful time in our lives. It was just what we all needed. We are all semi-adjusted to life without Teeter and we were able to do the adjusting away from home where lots of things remind us of him.

And yes, we also hiked on the Appalachian Trail twice We have video of little miss's first steps on our beloved trail! So cute.

More good news... We received a couple of email updates from Teeter's nurse who let us know he is doing okay. It is chaotic and whatnot, but the caregiving is going okay. He does have nursing care 12 hours a day, which disappoints us (he does not need it). But, at the same time we know he is being well-cared for and he is able to be with his siblings. That is what we had hoped for and we honestly thought that the relatives would do well once he got there. But, the few weeks before transition gave us a whole different picture and we were very, very nervous. But, it sounds like they are managing so far We hope to go over this week and drop a couple of pictures off and a few miscellaneous things he (we) accidentally forgot to send.

To all of you for your unless support during what has been a very hard time for our family.

Welcome back, Ath!!! Glad to hear the vaca was a blast! And Pixie welcomed with open arms is wonderful too!

As for Teeter - well, at least he wasn't in respite care, waiting for you to come home. They're trying, which is better than nothing. And you'll get a real peek at his new life when you drop off the "forgotten" stuff.

I'm glad you were able to get a break and a change of pace. You deserve it!!!!!!

Missed ya!!!

Sandy
