Just had it out with C's girlfriend
He was supposed to be home at 8 and of course wasn't. I got a call at close to 10 asking for a ride home. I could hear he was upset, and he confirmed he was at E's house, so I agreed. I have no idea what had gone on before I got there, but everyone was already upset - I take it E's dad had yelled at both of them. I told them to say goodnight, and that they wouldn't be talking on the phone tonight - and she went off on me, about how they had things they had to work out, and I said not tonight you don't, I am sick of hearing the screaming and cussing for two hours every night. She then totally went off, about how much I hate her, and how I'm always rude to her, and she's "always been taught to be polite to OLDER people" (Please! like that cut is really going to hurt coming from a 15 year old???) I got both barrels about what a horrible (w)itch I am. To my credit, I didn't lay her bare (so to speak) in front of her father - all the times she's lied to me, the time I caught them having sex in the next room (with the door not even closed). I honestly don't have much against her as her, but their relationship - them together - is just hopeless. They fight Every Day, she breaks up with him at least once a week, they cuss and scream at each other, and to no avail I tell both of them that that's not how you talk to someone you love. I'm hopeless, I'm Old, I've never known True Love. C cried all the way home - surprised the heck out of me, this kid never cries! I know they'll be back for more tomorrow - but at least we may have one night of peace!

The New Relationship
My ds and his girlfriend also seem to thrive on the negative and the more he attacks me while on the phone the more she seems to like it ... not realizing if things were ever to work out for them long-term that ugliness would eventually be passed on to her - then she may not think its such a good thing. She too thinks I am the "worst" as I won't give him everything or his way but -again- one day they will understand (hopefully) - hang in there and while sad he cried am glad he shared even if without words or logic so you can see the soft little boy that you so loved (and still do) growing up is still there - and he will return one day! I know my sweet guy is still there somewhere

I get so tired of the sleazy girlfriends. First, it was C and Skankarella, now its M and "Lolita".
I think the Nobel Prize in Chemistry should go to whoever invents a real, working "Skank Repellant". I also give you a lot of props for keeping it together. Had she gone off on me, I would have turned to her Dad and said "Hey, did you know that your daughter has been doing the Matress Mambo with my son on a regular basis?"

I wouldn't have held my tongue. And maybe dad needs to know what's going on. I have only liked a handful of the girls my kids dated. What is it with their love of constant fighting? Not what I want in a relationship.
At least you had ONE night you didn't have to hear it.

I don't understand these things either and sorry to say, it often gets worse. I've lost count of how many couples I've seen like this in their 20's. Instead of fighting on the phone, it changes to moving in and having babies w/ someone you fight w/ 24/7.
