He's going to graduate on Sunday.

Whew, it was a very close thing. He still doesn't have a job. He had until mid-June to have one, or he's going to have to move out. And now that he's graduated we'll be much less lenient with his behavior.

But we got him to this point...gave him this gift. Now it's his choice what to do with it.

It's wonderful that he is graduating! Hope he chooses to get a job and continue moving forward.

He's supposed to go to Community College this Fall. But I'm not sure if he'll be able to get his act together enough to get everything in line to go.

If he's not ready or this isn't something he really wants, waiting might be better. Two of my kids started before they were ready and now have to pay back financial aid money. They are older now and wanting school and aren't eligible for the money anymore until they prove it-which means they pay a semester and do well.

Anyway, hope your kiddo finds his way.

Congrats!

Congratulations to him ... but even more importantly to you - it takes alot these days to be a parent or parent figure and this goal is one earned by both you and him!

I'd take the approach of....

"GREAT, We're so proud of you. This is really wonderful...but I think you're just not ready for community college yet, perhaps you should take some time off until you're a bit more mature and can handle that level of responsibility. But it truly is wonderful that you graduated and we always knew you could do it!"

My kid would be signed up in a heartbeat and work her tush off to prove me wrong! LOL
