Since the board seems so slow lately, I will add an update and hope others will as well.

At this point we are anxiously waiting word on two possible placements. One is a single biracial 7mo boy, legal risk. Absolutely beautiful baby. I am not confident of our chances there, but I know we are one of three or four families being considered. The other is a sib group of three Hispanic children, ages 9 mos, 20 mos, and 3 1/2 yrs (girl, boy,boy) also legal risk. We are very hopeful on this one.Friday was the last day they would accept homestudies on this group and we know they want to move them before september, so it could happen very quickly. Or not. You never know.
Either one would make us so happy, but our first choice would be the sib group. We feel like there are a lot of families out there that could parent the single baby as well as we could (or perhaps better?)but that we would definitely be one of few families in a position to parent the sib group. And the fact that they are Hispanic is a big plus for us. (We are a Cuban-American family)

We are in the money bind here as well. Hubby is on leave and I am job hunting (though I would not want to work if we got the sib group). I am looking for a teaching position to get some experience as I am working on certification. I've taught middle school science in the past and want to continue with that. If I get the group I would like to find a way to work out of my home, so I'm putting some thought into that as well.
The waiting is excruciating. Every time the phone rings I run like a mad woman to see if it is "the call"! I am really being tested here, I can see. I have enormous amounts of nervous energy and have turned to cleaning as an outlet. My house is upside down right now due to three different "reorganization" projects I've got going at once!
At least the kids are in school! As it is I have driven them half nuts this weekend! (BTW my 12 yo daughter just found out she made the school soccer team! Hooray! she was one of only three girls picked!)
Well, I've written more than enough. Suffice it to say it is a crazy time and I hope to be writing very soon that we have a new child (or 3!) in our home.
