What are you Thankful for?

Ok friends it's once again time for our Annual "What are You Thankful For?" thread. I know it's a lil early, but we ALL need some Holiday cheer.. I can feel it.

I am Thankful that I have been blessed with 3 beautiful kids, a loving husband, devoted & crazy friends (yes this means you)

I am Thankful for my family (dh's included), that totally supports us in our choices to parent special babies.

I am Thankful, that the good times out weigh the bad, and when things are bad, good friends are there to help pull me out of the hole.

I am Thankful for the progress my kids have made.

I am Thankful, that we all come together, to share one common love for our kids.

I luv ya guys!! hmm really sappy..it must be post placement something kicking in

I am thankful for my kids and my wonderful husband and for my sister who moved in just in time to help me.
I am thankful for my best friend Diane who totally gets me and is always doing little things to help me. (like taking my kids for three weeks while I go to Poland)
I am thankful for my friends on here who understand my struggles with my son and don't say "I told you so" or ask me why I don't "send him back" or ask me what I expected or tell me he will eat when he is hungry.
I am thankful for Ronald Mcdonald house for providing us a cheap place to stay and meals and fun.
I am thankful to Texas Scottish Rite hospital for giving so much to my kids and being free and for being willing to set the other hospital we are working with straight when they didn't seem to get it.
I am also thankful my kids are not as sick as some I have met here at RMH. So many waiting for transplants are fighting cancer, it breaks my heart.

It is a really tough time to be thankful

But I am thankful for the people who are willing to listen to me cry, give me advice when I send crazy emails to them, and take my phone calls even if all I do is cry when they pick up the phone. I am greatful that I do not have to face all this stuff by myself cause I couldn't.

I am thankful that my kids cared when I told them about their grandmothers illness and that their first thought was to make an effort to see her and spend time with her.

I'm thankful that I was able to see my son graduate boot camp.

I am thankful that I could share the experience of my grandsons entrance into the world with my son.

I am thankful that my sons can call me and tell me they have found birth family and want to share that experience with me.

I am thankful for...

my children's laughter.
my baby's laugh.
my daughter's kisses.
my son's hugs.
my husbands quirks.
my friend's ears.
my family's love.
my God's grace.

I am thankful that I am not the only one who dreads the sun coming up because it means that it’s time to open L’s door and see what the day has in store. I’m thankful to know that other parents dread the pre ADHD medication kicking in hour in the morning. I’m thankful to know that other loving parents sometimes hate being their kids parents even though we’d still throw ourselves under a bus for the little ones… I’m extremely grateful to know that my hubby and I are not alone in the agonizing fear of searching for a diagnosis and of choosing a treatment that will do more good than harm in the end.

And I’m thankful to know that it is ok to not feel the warm fuzzys of happy gratitude this season…

I am thankful for:

...my handsome, crazy, funny boys
...my cat Nellie keeping me warm on these cold winter nights!
...my friends
...all the support and understanding from my forum friends. I could not have survived these last several weeks without you
...finally having peace with the issues with my mother
...being financially stable
...having 3 match meetings this week (finally!!!) even though we've already been not chosen for 1 of them
...my job - I love being with my students and teacher pals!
...J's meltdowns/tantrums going from more than an hour down to 15-20 minutes
...Q not crying all the time over nothing
...me being a calmer parent and not yelling so much
...that the boys and I are really healthy
...my fantastic daycare - what a godsend!
and..... last but not least.....
...that almost all of the chocolate is gone from the Halloween candy bucket, so I will stop eating it!!!!!

Thankful that we adressed the "october issue" outright and upfront with A. She is nowhere near as bad as she was (after reading all about RAD all week). AND beyond that I think she is finally fully secure with us. She shows genuine affection. She has nearly ZERO defiance. She does homework/chores without whining. She is seriously intelligent beyond my wildest dreams.

The kicker was a comment she made 2 nights ago while watching a soccer movie (soccer is her favorite). She had recieved a "trophy" for playing city recreation soccer this year, and prizes it above nearly anything. Anyway, she turns to me and says, you know my soccer trophy?, well, mom, YOU'RE the best "trophy" I ever got, like I get you for a mom and that means I win.

I was speechless. (for once) hee hee hee

This morning when I first read this I was thankful for nothing - Nothing - NOTHING! It's taken me all day to climb out of my Blue Funk.

I'm so thankful that C is my son! I wish sometimes that he were an easier child to parent, and that he could have an easier time with life - but maybe these trials make us appreciate the good more, when it comes?

I'm thankful for my mom, that she's still here and healthy and supportive - and just available! And for all other family members.

I'm thankful for my church family, which challenges and supports and loves us both. And long-time friends who might as well be family, we're so close.

I'm thankful for my cat, Max, who snuggles in at night; and for dawgs Maggie and Cherry, who amuse and adore always.

For the physical stuff of life - job, food, roof over our heads, clothes, clean water, hot showers (!!!) - all the stuff we so often take for granted. And my health.

And I'm thankful for the friends I've found here, who Get It, in bad times and in good.

And I'm especially thankful that bad/sad/I've-had-it moods don't last forever!!!
