My favorite "old time" Halloween treats were real popcorn balls. When we went trick-or-treating, there was an older lady down the road who always made homemade popcorn balls for the kids. They were SOOOOO Good!

As for least favorite, it would have to be those gross peanut butter things wrapped in orange and black wax paper! peanut butter-flavored caulk?? Gross

I agree with Mike on the "real" popcorn balls! My son came home from Headstart last week with one of those store bought popcorn balls he took only a couple of bites and threw it away. I also liked the homemade carmel apples! yummmmm!

They were those fake peanut butter things that Mike mentioned until I ate so many of them one time that I got sick. I love caramel apples, haven't had one in a few years, and of course..

CHOCOLATE!!!!!!!!

We used to make our own carmel apples as a kid...but now there is this great place in the mall that does gourmet carmel apples. HUGE apples covered in layers of carmel, different chocolates, nuts and candies.

I think I may need to head there tomorrow...think of it at Mommy's Trick or Treat! lol

Let me agree with the posters who hate the nasty orange and black peanut butter things. BLEAH. Also the circus peanuts and the wax candy with the sugar water inside. And has anyone had Warheads? Austin got those last yeah. BLEEEEAH!

We used to go to this little old lady's house. She lived waaaay out in the middle of a few gagillion acres of potato fields. (It's driving me nuts that I can't remember her name! Mrs. Allen? I think that was it.) ANYWAY, she would have a baggie of candy for each of us, all packed up and closed with a twist tie since this was before ziploc. She'd have real peanuts, a WHOLE real candy bar, not a little dinky candy bar, and candy corn, and cookies all crammed in this little sandwich bag. She was SO nice.

My favorite was, I think, circus peanuts, boston baked beans, junior mints, milk duds, and sugar daddy or sugar babies, almond joys, hershey with almonds...wait, did we have to narrow that down to just one favorite??
