We went out to eat, fish, swim, toured the town and his school and even went to Wal-Mart. It is hard to explain how we felt. He hugged us when he left, we can't wait until we get to visit again. We miss him already. We gave him a phone card to call us any time (with premission from his foster mom). We talked to his foster mom and worked out a time for us to call him during the week and him to call us. We are on cloud 9 today. His foster mom told us that the week before he came to visit us, he was going around saying his name using our last name. We talked to all of our children (4) last night, they all agreed, lets move him in as soon as we can. Being a new dad has always made me feel like I was 7 feet tall, if you know what I mean. I feel so full of joy, that I don't know how to explain it. Our children made a welcome poster for him as well as put ballons on our mailbox and street signs coming into our subdivision. Our new son took the poster and ballons with him when he left, you could see he was so happy for the welcome. He had some money with him and wanted to buy our 13 year old some fishing line he wanted since out 13 year old had not taken his money with him to Wal-Mart. He fit in so well, he chased us (my wife and myself) with a water gun in the pool. I could go on and on with all the little things that he did that made us feel so good. I just had to share with some one how we felt.

Ahem... (big, stern shout) KEAGAN!!!

What's this "women prefer... the teenier the better"????

I happen to enjoy my kids more and more as they get older. They're becoming a young man and two young women. The teen years are a bit of a fright, true, but this preteen/ elementary age stuff is pretty cool. And I really don't enjoy the toddler phase at all - especially now that I have one right in the middle of it.

My son may be a couple of years younger than yours are... but I bet he's just as tall as they are!

BTW, so glad to hear things are going well for you.

I hate being stereotyped...........

Keagan, Not every woman likes just teeny-weenie kids. My mother does but that's just because she doesn't like it when the kids get old enough to start making their own decisions. She likes to be able to decide everything for them. I originally began the adoption journey planning for the independent adoption of an infant but the more I thought about it, the more I thought maybe constant diapers and 3 AM feedings weren't the best way to go. I don't feel up to handling teens or pre-teens and I probably wouldn't turn down an infant if one was offered, but I like the idea of getting a child who has already developed a personality....Cheryl
