OHMYGOSH - I can not believe I forgot "Where the Wild Things Are"! I think I should just send Jen's J all my boys old books as he seems to have them same interests in books that they did!

I also went to the local thrift store and got A the Childcraft Encyclopedia set I grew up with (copyright 1984)...She is just starting to discover those. HECK, *I* still read em!!!
It ALSO didn't occur to me that reading Grown-Up Encyclopedias was odd, till I was telling DH about my childhood and he busted out laughing....all the time I was bored, so I'd go grab the "N" book or whatever and just start browsing...This is the actual encyclopedias, not the kids version BTW... I also REALLY loved my Thesaurus.... Jeeeez! I'm a FREAK!

Jenny, we have books all over the house (yes, even the bathroom!) AND in the "library". The "library" just holds...well, most of the books. Usually.
We have bookshelves in all the rooms, too, but they just hold the stuff we are currently using, which rotates as the kids drag out other books, or I pull out books on a particular subject relating to the season, or what we are studying in school, etc. Oh, a REALLY cool book is 'A to Zoo: Subject Access to Children's Picture Books' by Carolyn Lima. It's a reference book that lists tons of children's books by subject. REALLY great for doing story times with preschoolers, or when working on projects (such as science or history) with younger elementary kids. I love mine...which is probably why we had to keep having more kids, so that I could keep using it! ![]()
