I must attend a baby shower for my soon to be born grandson. I told them they need to party fast so I can chat but they do NOT seem to understand this.

I am sorry, life has just been so hectic here. My sister is moved in with her two, everyone has started school. The two first graders already have homework everynight. The ninth grader has already had a test in honors English, and they are talking a lot about the symbolism and such in the books he had to read over the summer. However, he has aspergers and so while he has a nearly photographic memory for what he has read (six books, because they changed the reading list midway through the summer when they hired a new teacher, plus he read HP and a few other books he wanted to read this summer) he has a difficult time figuring out symbolism and the "mood" of the story and such. 7th grader started football, this was a big thing for him because he has never done anything with other guys. He was afraid he would have to drop dance, but the teacher said he could miss a few classes for football and basketball games, he did have to tell one of his best friends he could not do ballroom with her until spring (she can't take it without a male partner and no other boy will do it with her) He did not want to have to choose between dance and football. Not a choice most boys have issues with. LOL. He is also learning that guys interact differently than girls (he has usually been the only boy in most of his dance classes) and he got pretty out of shape this summer, so he he was miserable but seems to be getting better. Third grader goes between loving having two more girls in the house to getting mad that they keep wanting to follow her and copy her and play with her stuff. My little guy lost some more weight so we are finally getting counseling. I found one that he was actually honest with. It was such a mixed feeling to have him tell her stuff, he bragged about how he tricked his teachers last year, and how he would throw up on purpose when he was mad at me and how much he hates eating. All these things I know, and part of me was elated that he is admitting them, since people are telling me I am crazy and over reacting and wrong and such, there was such relief and I could tell that the therapist beleived him and she has seen such things before. However, a part of me is also broken hearted that my sweet baby is doing these things on purpose and that we have to deal with this on top of his physical problems. Even though I was prepared for attachment issues, I still had some hope that he would be very mild. So now he is seeing a psychiatrist, a dietition and a developmental ped. and his usual ortho, all two hours away at Scottish Rite. My daughter has surgery coming up at that same hospital as well as getting new legs made which takes several visits. My own school classes this year seem harder and I already have homework. My best friend is having major surgery soon and I am teaching as usual both on Wednesday and Sunday, but this time different ages, pre K on Sundays (because I am the only one who can handle a certain three year old whom I beleive to have major attachment and other issues, he has been passed around relatives and such a lot, now with an overstressed grandma who yells a lot, he also heard mom say she didn't want him anymore because he was too much trouble) Sis still has no job, she is trying to organize my house which is good, but she is also trying to get me to help, which is also good but I have been so busy that I am doing homework and such at very, very late hours and getting now sleep.
Anyway, life is nuts, so I missed chat, we were cleaning out my deep freeze which was filled with food, but the kids left it open and it all thawed. We defrosted it while we we were at it. DH is complaining that we have been overspending way too much with all the back to school supplies, clothes, dance tuition and registration for four kids and dance shoes for the same four kids and such. It's been nuts and now all that food I had is in the trash! AAARGh. See, I would have been no fun in chat anyway! However, I will try for Friday, now it's time for me to get everyone's stuff laid out and get more up, football boy has early morning practice and is already in the shower. Actually he must be out, the smell of axe is drifting this way, time to get the next one up. I promise to try to come Friday, I think my penalty for missing should be being sent to my room for a long nap!

Lorriane,

No way. You get a far worse punishment!

You're sentenced to a nap AND a bubble bath. And if you do it again, it'll be a nap, a bubble bath and a glass of wine

Hmm, I think I will take it, but I can't comply with my punishment till after I go pick up all six kids, feed them, get thier homework done, take them to church, where I am a teacher (got to finish my lesson) get thier homework done and my homework done, clothes laid out and then I can comply!
