Texas TPR

It sounds like some of you are from Texas or have adopted from Texas so maybe you can help me. We are in the process of an adoption from the Dallas/Fort Worth area. This is a private adoption and the birthparents will be willingly terminating their own rights. So here's my question, do birthparents have any time period of withdrawing the adoption or when they sign their name on the dotted line is it a done deal??? We live in Ohio and when birthparents sign the paper, it's done. I just want to be prepared.
Thanks,
Leeann

lulubell, wanted to bump this up so in hopes that someone might be able to help you. I have no experience in this area.

My sister's name is lulubell, so imagine my surprise to see your username! And my niece {her daughter} is named Leanne. They both live here in Kansas, though!

Anyhow, good luck to you!

There is a web page that lists adoption laws for each state, or it lists links for pages that list the laws for each of the states. I'll see if I can find it for you.

HA! I found it faster than I thought. Hope this gives you some help.

Texas Family Code (1999), Sections 162.001 to 162.025; 162.101 to 162.107; 162.201 to 162.206; 162.301 to 162.309; 162.401 to 162.422
