What are you doing today?

A couple of years ago, my friend, Julie, told me that whatever you are doing on New Year's Day, is what you will do every day for the rest of the year.

That year I spent New Year's Day fighting with a crabby, snotty teen. Pretty much how the rest of the year went. Don't remember what I was doing last year, but this year.......

Cuddling with new kiddo
Finished a puzzle
Some work at church
Studying for Lay Academy class
Pick up stuff at Wal-Mart
Eat fattening food
And, of course, checking e-mail and a.com

I hope you are and not

Shoot! I have been cleaning closets and drawers, doing laundry , and working around the house all day. I DON'T want to be doing this every day all year long.

Quick - I better start relaxing, reading, playing with my kids or something FUN! Thanks for the warning Zebra!

Let's see we had our traditional, blackeye pea's & hog jowel with fried cabbage, mixed greens (turnip, mustard & collard) fried chicken, mashed taters, gravy, rolls, cornbread, peach cobbler & pecan pie.

Some of this stuff is supposed to keep you healthy , wealthy & wise. I don't think I ate enough of these last New Years cuz, I'm still not H,W & W yet.

Oh and Suz, It's considered bad luck to wash clothes on New Years. They say you'll wash someone out of your life.

Hope everyone had a great day & hope everyone has a great year!!

Good thing!

I've been cleaning, shopping, paperwork, and arguing with my grounded teen, but I've also been painting murals on the kids' walls, being naughty with my dh, giving decorating advice, and cuddling with some of the kids. I can live with that!

Hugs and prayers for all!
Mary (mom to T age 7.5, K age 10, soon to be mom to C age 11 and maybe D age 13).

SHOOT! I did laundry!! Then I cleaned (de-cluttered, which is what I've been doing all year LAST year already!), talked on the phone, watched a movie, made meals, and was snotty to Dh over projects that are stumping both of us (not his fault, I'm just being snarky). Great pattern for the rest of the year it is NOT. I guess I'd better change tout de suite!

I've been laying around pretty much doing nothing....reading a new book, played with the kids, cleaned the kitchen & yes I did laundry too. But mostly...laid around.

Is it really a sign of good relaxation time to come??? LOL! And is the person I washed out of my life today a person that needs to be washed out? Hmmm....guess time will tell!

Happy New Year y'all!

This IS NOT something I want to hear.

I woke up to a crap covered dog in a crap covered kennell. It's been a crappy day!

The dog has the worst gas EVER! And it's only 30 degrees, so opening the window isn't the greatest.

I've had a little GI thing going on all day too.

Q's was a little bit monster today too!

CRAP, CRAP, CRAP!

We slept in...so that would be a nice thing to do for the rest of the year!!! I organized all the information to have our taxes done, did laundry {wouldn't be hard WHO I want to pick to 'wash out of my life'!} and colored with my little ones. My oldest son {17} started his FIRST job today, so that was exciting. I wanted to take a picture of him in his 'work' clothes, but he wouldn't let me.

q's mom, sorry to hear about your day! Hope tomorrow shines brighter...and smells nicer, too!!!!

Q, consider changing your doggie's food! Bummer day! Perhaps the bright side is that your future HAS to get better, right??

I did - that's the problem.

My dog has food allergies. Someone gave me a bag of 'designer' food. I've been mixing it with her regular food to ease her into it. But last night, as the same - it hit the fan!

No more fish and sweet potato for Wolf.

OMG! I do believe fish & sweet potato would give a dog without allergies problems! Heck...humans everywhere eating this combo would need Jenny's Poo Tongs!!!!

She's allergic to chicken, and lamb. Guess I'll stick to beef.

So, I thought I'd try it. I've been mixing it for about a week.

I also changed the cat food - the dog often invades the cat food - that could be it too!

But, it's killing me!

I spent most of the day driving two hours each way to my mother in laws so dh could spend several hours fixing her computer while the rest of us took down her tree, and her decorations. (mine are still up). We then went out to dinner to celbrete ds birthday (the 30 was the actual birthday) and then came home where I did laundry and went to bed early while dh and kids stayed up playing video games.

After all our hospital adventures, we went to bed at 10:00 on New year's Eve (and I didn't even hear anything at midnight!) Woke up to the flyby for the Rose Parade, but even the thought of Storm Troopers wasn't enough to get me out of bed until 9:30! Our church is right off the parade route, so our high school kids direct traffic and park cars as a fundraiser, but thanks to our week's adventures, this time we did *not* have to get up at 3:00 to get over there!

We had a calm day until C finally felt well enough to get cabin fever, and then have a tantrum because his friends' plans fell through, and he was so disappointed, but not nearly enough to go to the movies with his Mom and her friend. So we had a teen-free evening watching Night at the Museum - cute.

I'm looking forward to this year - no specific resolutions, just IT'S GOTTA BE BETTER THAN 2006!!!
