I have noticed after reading several messages on the board today and over the past few days, that there seems to be some insensitive things being said.

I wanted to point out that we all are in this boat TOGETHER! Regardless of age, parenting experience, exposure to children, number of children, etc. We are all adopting, or have adopted children with needs.

It would be a shame if someone who was in need of help came to this board and was met with something that was less than helpful and supportive.

I think that in one way or another we all are able to offer assistance in our own areas of expertise. Whether it be with dealing with an energetic toddler to dealing with RAD,ODD and acting out in the many ways we all have something to offer.

I understand the need to "warn" people of the pitfalls of adoption. But it would be a terrible shame if in the process of warning someone that they were talked out of adopting.

I hope to see the mood of the board can change soon. I have found it very helpful and supportive in the past. But if it continues in the manner it has I intend on going through my process without it. I don't need any more stress and disappointment than I already have within my adoption process.

Unfortunately, this kind of thing has happend before. last summer, a certain "Anonymous" took to jumping all over Yrand and then all over me when I came to her defense. I agree that this Board should be about helping one another, BUT I will respond when attacked. I'm not one to just sit back and take it.

Another thing to realize is that this Board is home to MANY strong personalities with definite opinions. Sometimes it is hard to keep cool heads, but I agree we should do our best to keep cool

Things are moving along with our possible baby girl.... mom is in the early stages of labor and will definitely have the baby within the next two weeks. Once born, we will at least know if this child has full-blown FAS, etc. Will be better able to make some decisions at that point! Say some prayers for the health of this innocent baby!

I couldn't agree more. And might I add, it would also be a shame to lose the input of valued people like yourself due to a few nasty comments that bring down this otherwise supportive group of people. As for some of those nasty comments that were directed at me personally, well, I've responded to this person and refuse to get in a "tit for tat" discussion with them. I hope you stick around Ashley, I really respect your opinions and input on this board!
