The wait continues...

We found out that John's prints made it to NY State. Where they are now (over 10 weeks later) is anybody's guess, but "we have no reason to believe they are permanently lost" as everything seems to be backed up right now. A second tracer has been put on to discover if they arrived at the second destination... Meanwhile the FBI has no interest in tracers, and our agency was told we just have to wait.

Our worker told us today that our home study is written. We haven't seen it yet because it can't be approved by the agency until we are cleared for all fingerprints etc. I wish she would have mentioned this sooner. She said we will get the hs for final approval as soon as our prints clear. In the meantime, she wants us to send her a list of all the girls we are interested in. She will continue to look out for new matches for us. The one girl she inquired on is on hold for a family member who has stepped forward. If I can stay awake, I'm going to type that list for her now (although it's not like there's a rush).

I know how frustrating it is. However, those prints could come any day, and once they do things could move along rather quickly. We've only been official for about a week now and have already gotten two referrals (one was a sib group of 3 and the other an 11 mo. old baby). We did have to turn them both down, which was very hard to do, it's just that we really have decided on a girl or two (and only two) ages 5 to 8. Anyway, my point is that a week or two from now things could be very different for you. Still, I know that it is soooooooo hard to just sit and wait. I'll be wishing and hoping for you my friend.

I'm so glad things are moving for you. We are keeping our chins up and trying to be as productive as we can until things start moving again (we keep looking, working on our photo album, reading, etc.). Things at work are really crazy and stressful at the moment... it's so nice to have friends like you on the board to vent to!

Please keep us posted about your possible referrals. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you and Ashley!
