It's okay to eat chocolate at 6:45 a.m., right?

Ya...I had a chocolate bar for breakfast this morning. Coffee just wasn't cutting it, and we all know my rule that I have coffee before dealing with ANYTHING in the morning.

45 min. screaming fit is just not the way to start my day!

Seriously...an 8 year old girl screaming and stomping for 45 min. is getting a little old now. I just don't like this game anymore and need a new game. Any new and fun games out there?

Stop, count to 20 and remember there is always someone worse off out there. I homeschool 3 ADHD and one ODD. We have our good days and bad days. Usually the bad days outweigh the good days but at least I'm a mommy now.

And of course I'm on my 4th cup of coffee already this morning too! I have about 1 hour left of sanity before we begin schooling.

Yes, chocolate is definately okay. I know it's my breakfast of choice far too many times these days.

As for finding a new game... well, as you know I'm looking for one myself. I think you should join Lucy and I in Hawaii until we find one.

Oh I sooo know what you mean!

I just asked our 8 yr old if she knew anyone 8 yr old girls that would scream and stomp for 45 mins - she raised her hand

And the therapists are about NO support - mine is over 80 lbs (another story she is foster - bio mom withheld food) and the therapist told me to pick her up and carry her to her room when she is throwing a tantrum. Oh and the 'technique' she was taught by the therapist for when she is angry - squeeze her hands tight and release them

Are people awake at 6:45 am? Aren't there laws against that?

Chocolate is good whenever. Try popping it in the screamers mouth-it tends to stifle the noise a bit. Tell her she seems a litte sour and you wanted to help sweeten her up.

Hawaii-the sooner the better.

Diane - I thought you meant the therapist was over 80 lbs.!!!!!!!! I'm still laughing at picturing you picking up your therapist and carrying her off. Duh. Maybe I need some chocolate.

Sorry, Lorraine...I ate it all. Nice try though! lol.

Diane - I usually do toss my dd over my shoulder and take her to her room when she does this. But, my back is a bit out lately and I was afraid if I did it this morning, I'd have hurt us both. Then I'd be crying and it's just not a good mix, yanno?

Lucy...good one! Definitely keeping that for next time. Only it'll be a spoonful of sugar cuz no way am I parting with my chocolate!!!

You Go Girl!!!!!

Not sure if you've tried this yet or not, but F's therapist just told us the next time she goes into her angry screaming tantrum rage, to do a ready, set, go! And declare it tantrum time for the whole family!
Neighbor's might not appriciate it, but i'm thinking I'll feel better after a nice long screaming fit. (hehe)

Oct - I have tried this in the past, and let me tell you, the boys LOVE IT! ROFL! Makes her madder though and she goes after them. So have to miss out on the fun tantrum myself to hold her. That's not a fun game! Dang it! I want a FUN game!! LOL! It does work sometimes though.

This morning's game ended with me putting her in the shower in her jammies and turning on the water. Not blasting cold, but it wasn't the "right" temp either. Wasn't my plan but it did accomplish what we needed it to, which was taking a shower and getting ready for school.

I, of course, needed more chocolate after that workout...

Sorry for my poor wording up there - lol- that's what I get when the 8 yr old is being a busy body.

I LOVE the spoon of sugar - 'cause I ain't parting with chocolate either!

I have also done the cold shower - in full clothes

the other day I walked out the front door and sat down on the lawn chair - boy did that throw her!

That's a great one, too! I'll have to try that sometime. Although, he's likely to destroy his room in the process, but atleast I won't be in the house to hear it.
