Free State Programs for Special Needs

You would be required to take a parenting course. We took this course in Pennsylvania and there is nothing they don't prepare you for. Our classes were up front and honest, nothing would be a surprise. You would have the support of a Social Worker 24 hours a day if needed.

Only YOU decide to what extent special needs you can handle. Many of these children are listed as special needs due to their age or color. Many of them have minor correctable problems.

In our state of Pennsylvania, the program is called SWAN. I am not an employee of SWAN, nor have we adopted through them yet, we took the classes and then a different adoption came through for us. I would recommend this program to anyone if you're considering special needs and you lack the financing for an agency or attorney adoption.

If you would like the telephone number, please email me directly at DeboraD@AOL.com. Good luck in all of your adoption endeavors!
