Update-contact with RAD sibling

Hello all. I am back to let you all know how the process of making contact with my boys' sister is going. We initially started with a few phone calls, then a letter was exchanged and 2 weeks ago we had our first visit. I have to say the visit went really well, she was a good big sister to her brothers. The boys were just running around and getting into everything. She was very good at showing them everything and talking to them. Well, there was one incident that I needed the therapist to assist with. We went to the swings and she was sitting next to my 4 year old and out of the blue she says "when you were a baby your mom gave you up". Now my 4 year old didnt understand what she was saying and I wasn't sure I had heard her right but she repeated herself. I had my husband stay with her and I went and got the therapist and she talked to her about it about why she said it and that T is only 4 and dosent understand. That was the only bump during the visit, but I think it was beneficial for her. She has not called since the visit-maybe she is trying to push us away. I called her last night and talked to her and let my son talk to her. She was acting very aloof and I let her, I dont want to play into begging her for contact. I asked her if she was going to call Friday and she said she was going to call the Connors-this is a couple who does respite for her. I said ok, for her to call us when she wants to. Well, thats it for now. Thank you for listening.
Kathy
