New with questions
Hi!
We are a couple with two bio children looking to adopt special needs child. We are hoping for an infant. Open to White, Asian, Hispanic, Asian/white, hispanic/white. We were told by a social worker that they wouldn't place an african american here because there aren't many that live in this county. Anyway, has anyone ever adopted an AIDS infant? We are looking for a premie, premie with drug or alcohol addiction, a child with congenital heart defects (that is our passion), or an HIV baby. Where did you go to get placed with these 'types' of children? Was your wait long? How has it been since you received your child? Any info would be great.! Thanks Michigan Mom |

I have several websites that will help you.
The adoptuskids one is ok, but not all states are on there and some states only list some of their kids on there and other kids on their personal websites. Try [Edited To Remove the URL to a Photo Listing] It's got all of the individual states' websites as well as the group sites (NWAE, AdoptUSKids, etc.) As for HIV kids, I actually happen to know about a 1 yr. old in New Jersey - check the comeunity site and click on New Jersey, then click on Children (top left of page) then click on Infant to 5, and on the second page of Infant to 5, there's a 1 yr. old boy W/HIV - his name is Lamont. But if you're looking for an infant - your best bet is to let your worker know - are you with a county/state agency or a private agency? If you're with a county/state agency, there's usually a person in the state that deals with HIV/AIDS kids. There's also a group run by Jim Jenkins in AZ - the website is[Edited To Remove the URL to a Photo Listing] They specialize in placing HIV/AIDS kids, but they've been struggling to find kids in the U.S. as well. Are you licensed for out-of-state adoptions? If so, try Florida - they've got a good number of HIV/AIDS kids down there. Otherwise, if you're willing to take a drug or alcohol baby (although personally I'd never take an alcohol baby, that's something they never recover from. My boys are drug babies, and I'd take a drug baby any day.) there are lots of those kids out there! It's the infant part that will be difficult. And will likely cost you extra $$. Oh! I just remembered, I saw an infant in Pennsylvania, here's the website:[Edited To Remove the URL to a Photo Listing]There's an infant on there named Max, born in 2004. Sorry, I just realized I'm rambling on and on. Anyhow, I hope this information helps. Feel free to PM me if I can help with anything else! Ooops! Sorry, I guess you will have to find you own websites. Some of them are listed on this site. Good luck.
