We've been selected!
Well, it's now official! We have been matched with the young man in Ohio that I mentioned earlier. How I found out was actually kinda funny.

I was browsing the website and noticed that his name now had "matched" next to it. I called my worker to see if anyone had called her and they hadn't. Ellen told me to call Ohio and find out what was up, since workers usually confirm with the prospective parents before labelling a child as "matched". Well, I called his county. Turns out, his worker was supposed to call me but ended up being sick that day, so I talked to his adoption worker and asked her what the story was. She told me "Mike, it's you. In all my years of doing this, I've never seen a better parent-child match." She apologized repeatedly for dropping the ball on contacting me and asked if I was mad. I laughed and told her "No, but it's kinda like having the neighbor lady tell you that your wife's pregnant."

Now, the next step is that they will send my worker the file and she and I will review it and then review it with his team via conference call. If, after that, I still want him, I get to go to his home county to meet him.
