adopted blind child ?

Hs anyone here adopted a child who is blind ? We are considering a 4 year old girl in an orphanage who has been there from birth we believe.

If anyone who has adopted a bind child we wlould love to hear from you .Please email us if you can .Thank you

We are adopting a 4 yr blind boy from India.He is not home yet but we hope he will be in the next few weeks.Waiting for interstate comapct approval.Our son also has microcephaly and is very delayed.Hope to hear more from you.

Her Agency fees should be very reduced than what is normal for an adoption!

I think it's totally about your comfort level. When DH and I started the adoption process, vision problems were the one thing we felt we could handle. But when the opportunity to adopt a sweet little girl who was blind came up, DH fervently said no. The little girl we are adopting has mild congenital nystagmus(her eyes move back and forth). I think if you are comfortable handling the needs a blind child you should definately go for it! What country is she in?
