Where did it go??????

Yesterday, there was a post here about a little boy in Eastern Europe that the poster was hoping someone would adopt because he was close to being aged out of the orphanage and sent to an institution. I responded that I wished I could help, but was not in the position to. Today I got a message that there was a response to my post, but when I came here, the thread is gone entirely. Did something happen that I'm not aware of? It didn't seem controversial in any respect or anything.

Was that the boy that was about 3 ½ and would soon be going to an institution for invalids?
If that was the one, I read that thread this morning.
The person responded that YES the boy was indeed still available and provided a link for more info. They mentioned that they were even willing to help with adoption costs.
I don’t know what happened to it, but I can’t find it now either.
I did not see anything that was controversial in it either. Not sure what’s going on here.

The URL that was posted on the thread took you to a website that had a listing of children, and not all were special needs. We welcome to posting of individual special needs situations, however special needs does not include age, sex, or race.

The post would have been pointless without the URL, so the entire thread was removed.

Brandy - I beg to differ. In the USA and around the world "special needs" or "hard to place" children DO encompass age, race AND gender. Look at the listings ... ANY adoption of a child over the age of 2 is considered "special needs". The adoption of older boys who happen to be AA -- ask any social worker ... they are ALSO considered to be "special needs". We got a subsidy from the state for our perfectly healthy, wonderful sons, who also happened to be over age 2 and aa BECAUSE the STATE considered it to be a "special needs adoption"

This delete button happy crew are going nuts here. You dont think that the url could of been edited out of the post with a note for the "button happy administrators" that more specific information needed to be posted INSTEAD of just deleting the whole UNOFFENSIVE thread?

Whats the problem ... one more child might end up with parents?

No my anger isnt just about this post, its about whats been happening all over this forum for the last few days. When did the "think our way or be gone" dictatorship take over? I must of missed the notice.

Jen, I think I appreciate the criticizing, but I'm not sure.

The forums do have rules. Agencies do indeed deal with special needs children but they are not allowed to solicit themselves on the forums.

Simple as that.

>>The URL that was posted on the thread took you to a website that had a listing of children, and not all were special needs.<<

Well, this is even more confusing because when I went to the URL listed it only had about four children listed and they were all special needs. There were two with Down Syndrome and the little boy in question with no legs and one other that had some physical disability.

At any rate, I applaud the original poster for trying to find this little guy a forever home and I hope and pray that he does not go to an institution.
