What I'd like to tell that Doctor now ...
Well, We've now known our son for several weeks. He definitely has severe articulation problems and possible expressive language problems (it's really hard to tell because articulation is so difficult for him). He is somewhat delayed overall. But, he is the most delightful boy and we have absolutely fallen in love with him!!! He is happy, happy, happy. He is helpful and considerate and wants to please. He loves animals and is gentle with them. He loves giving his new Mommy and Daddy hugs and kisses. He loves his new toys so much he must take them all to bed with him!!! He is a wonderful boy and the next time I see that Doctor I'd like to give him a piece of my mind regarding his negative comments. Just think, if a person was easily influenced by their Physician what a wonderful joy they would miss out on. I don't know exactly what I'd like to tell him, but I think I'm working up to it. As to anyone else, we've decided just don't say anything. When people meet him, their first impression is of his delighful personality shining through. It is only after a little while that they ask, "does he have speech problems?" and we just say "yup" and carry on. Thanks for all the support, Kalynn.
